Not ashamed to say I put Monistat on my face.
OK i’m a little ashamed to admit it. But it’s still something that I have to post about because it’s probably one of my favorite and most used beauty products. I heard about using monistat chafing gel as a primer from one of those beauty message boards and I thought it sounded absolutely ridiculous. That was until I started being all financially responsible and realized that spending almost $40 on makeup primer was insane. Yes monistat products are usually used to treat yeast infections but as a primer this workers better than most of the high end products.
This anti-chafing balm’s main ingredient is the same as many foundation primers’: dimethicone. It also contains Vitamin E and aloe, and it’s fragrance-free and formulated to let skin “breathe”. I’m currently in the process of making my face blemish free and even, I’ve gotten pretty far but I still have a ways to go. (Maybe i’ll do a skin care post later, lots of vitamin talk and weird facial washes) So because of that I wear foundation quite often. Primer makes a huge difference in make up application. It preps your face and makes your skin smooth and even. The texture of this “primer” is quite powdery. Once you put it on your skin will quickly become matte and very soft. You’re foundation and concealer will go on so smoothly and make your skin look flawless. Of course I set my face with a loose power to give myself a very finished look, but it’s not necessary. There really are no downsides to this primer. It’s very cheap, works unbelievably well, doesn’t break you out, and did I mention how cheap it was?! Don’t walk but run to your nearest drugstore and pick this up. You’ll definitely have to thank me later.
